Overall Solar Experience
“The installation was done before we were open for the season, they had their game plan, and I didn’t need to be actively involved in any way.”

The demand for solar panels at The Harris House came from wanting to control rising energy prices and a high objective to lower the carbon footprint of the motel. The average utility bill per month was quickly approaching $3,000 when the owners realized solar needed to be explored.
Green Power Energy installed a 134.28 kW system on the hotel's flat roof. The array is made up of 374 Trina 360w Solar Modules, SolarEdge Inverters, and Dynoraxx Racking Solution. This solar solution was designed to take advantage of full sun exposure year-round in order to offset the high electricity costs.
Installing solar on the hotel’s flat roof has allowed for savings on increasing utility rates to be put back into the hotel’s maintenance and yearly improvements. The production from the system and the income from SRECs saved the hotel about $130,000 in the first year of the system commissioning. The hotel will be able to reach their return on investment in less than three and a half years!
