Why did you want solar plus storage?
“I wanted to get a safeguard for power outages. Originally, I looked at generators and researched all of the products. My backyard is small, so by putting a generator in, it would eliminate a lot of space. I had a good amount of roof space so I thought about installing solar panels and placing the Tesla Powerwalls in the back of the garage.”
What was your experience installing batteries?
“It was difficult to get a hold of Powerwalls during the time of my installation. The solar part of my install came first in June and then the batteries were ready by November. The solar was done in the first phase with all the wires ready to hook up to the battery when it was available.”
Have you experienced an outage and how did your batteries perform?
“All of the outages we have had so far have been less than 15 minutes. It has been working pretty flawlessly. I found that every other neighbor’s house is completely dark and we still have power.”
